Back to XP

The huge resource demands Windows Vista has been a real let down for the Window users. It has left the users longing for the good old days of Window XP. Some have even gone back to Xp after their unsuccessful attempt with Vista. After this failure Microsoft should understand that its only aim should not be usefulness but also satisfaction with the customers. At least let’s Microsoft keeps this in mind in its future applications.

New algorithm for Google Image search

A couple of researchers working together in Google has found out a way to quantify the characteristics of an image and rank them according to the search item. This invention is all set to give the Google Image search facility a boost. The ranking system called Visual rank is will have a big role to play in future machine learning algorithms.

Face book to face bad guys


Face book has entered into an agreement with attorney generals of 59 states. According to the agreement the social network site will improve its finds and bars to find sexual predators. Texas attorney did not sign the agreement. Facebook will continue to improve on its age verification and detecting inappropriate behavior. Facebook already has almost 70 million users in its social networking site.

Skype forays into mobile world


Skype also sets its foot on the mobile world with its beta version of the voice over the internet protocol for mobiles. The product which the company says is still unstable will enable its users to set up group chats and check who are all online and also make the Skypin and Skype out calls as in the computer application. The protocol will work in 50 java enabled devices and represents Skype’s foray into mobile world.

Mothers against GTA IV


Concerned mothers are really unhappy about the drinking and driving in GTA IV. They advocate that the rating of the game should be changed from Mature to Adults only. They also went to the extent of asking the producer to stop distributing the game. This has come down as a big blow after the game had become a smash hit all over the world. Let’s hope all goes on well.

Kia and Hundai for Microsoft’s sync system

Kia and Hyundai have entered into a deal with Microsoft for their sync systems. They will be following Ford in the deal. The Microsoft’s sync system allows the audio devices to connect with the electronics inside the car and allow for control of the car through voice. Hyundai and kia will be entitled to sell cars with sync systems from November.

Zune to Zap unauthorized content

Guys using Zune to view the files downloaded from the bit torrent shall be careful. Microsoft has announced that its Zune will block any unauthorized use of the copyrighted contents. This blocking will start from the latest editions of the Hero and other products from NBC. They hope that this will be the start of an era where there will be some respect copyrights especially in the entertainment world.
