Redirects a door for hacking?

Whenever you make a typo error while typing the address the ISP has used it an oppurtunity see a bit more cash by redirecting it to an URL with sponsored links. But, a security reassearcher has found out a way in which he exploits this redirection to gain illegal access to data. So, guys be careful the next time you get redirected.
